PA CLEARANCE ACT

 

PA Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) has changed as of Nov. 2014.  
 

Effective July 1, 2015: All volunteers for all orgs and religious institutions are obligated to
comply by 7/1/15 with the new Clearance Act.  The process is the same across the board. Three (3) reports must be submitted:

 

   1)  State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
   2)  PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
   3)  FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 114)
        -- Please note, Report #3 is ONLY for PA residents who have not lived in PA a minimum
           of 10yrs.
        -- For those PA residents of 10yrs, you must instead fill out and submit an 
           Affidavit of Oath form.  This is a PA requirement.

Expiration of these Clearance Reports?  The reports are good for 3yrs from the date you receive your Clearance Approval.

Can They be Transferred?  YES.  If you've recently done the process at work or elsewhere, you only need to submit copies to your club.

   - Print Reports #1 & #2.  Mail BOTH forms together with any necessary money order to:

     Child & Abuse Registry
     Dept. of Public Welfare/Human Services
     P.O. Box 8170
     Harrisburg, PA 17105-8170

 

 

   - REPORT #3:  If you are applicable, submit online for Report #3.  If not applicable, then
     print the Affidavit of Oath and submit to your org.
